Timothy Team 2024

The Timothy Team: A 6 week discipleship program during the fall semester focused on equipping us with the tools and skills to lead our peers to Christ. A unique opportunity for students to grow in their faith, get equipped with the Word, and learn to serve!

Why “Timothy Team”?

Timothy was a young disciple of the apostle Paul, and his life offers us an inspiring example of how students, just like you, can take an active role and make an impact.

  • Knew the Scriptures: Paul urges Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15 to “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed workman, cutting straight the word of the truth.” Timothy’s commitment to Scripture was key to his growth.
  • Nourished in the faith: In 1 Timothy 4:6, Paul says, “If you lay these things before the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, being nourished with the words of the faith and of the good teaching which you have closely followed.” Timothy not only knew God’s Word, but was nourished by it.
  • Don’t let anyone despise your youth: Despite his age, Timothy was an example for others. As 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise your youth, but be a pattern to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
Team is an essential part of this program. Timothy didn’t do all this by himself. He was a member of the Body of Christ. We hope you will learn to serve as a team in the one Body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, “Now you are the Body of Christ, and members individually.”

what to expect

Weekly Team Meetings: 1.5 hours each week at time that works with your schedule.

Weekly Assignments: These will help you deepen your understanding of Scripture and develop your spiritual growth.

Team Building: Increase your connection with your teammates and learn to bear one another in love.

Participants are expected to join in regular club activities (i.e., Foundations and bible studies) and to be committed to the weekly team meeting times and practical assignments for the entire six week duration. This may include a weekly personal time with the Lord, practicing praying for specific matters, practicing outreach and planning for events.
